What is Our Theology?
We have chosen Bible characters that are the best representatives of role model qualities children can follow. Examples:

  • Abraham models Faith. (Genesis 11)
  • Abigail models hospitality to strangers. (1 Samuel 25-30)
  • Cornelius exemplifies Love Your Enemies (Acts 10 1-33)
  • Priscilla is an important Teacher. (Acts 18; Romans 16)
  • Jonathan reminds us of loyalty to a friend. (1 Samuel 13)
  • Orphans and Widows: serving those who need us most. (James 1.27)

And some are examples of people who teach us about the consequences of poor choices:

  • Jezebel (1 Kings)
  • Herod (Matthew 2)
  • Goliath (1Samuel 17)
  • Eve (Genesis 3)
  • Zechariah (Luke 1)

The rhymes, in their essence, teach all of us, adults as well as children, the wisdom of following Jesus Greatest Commandment: Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and Love your neighbor as yourself. This is the first and greatest commandment. (Matthew 22.37,38)
